Segment 1 update sequence by date:10,13, August

Monday, 10^th August 

• IATO Inputs/suggestions about revival of tourism post Covid-19

On date IATO thanked Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism (IC) for the meeting called on the 10^th to discuss about revival of tourism post Covid -19 and offered its inputs on the same. 

Copies of the letter were marked to Secretary, DG, ADG and JS Tourism. 

Thursday, 13^th August

• Incorrect and misleading data/information given in Hindustan Times dated 13^th August 2020 - Logistics, tourism generated most jobs in Covid-19 aftermath

On date IATO wrote to Smt. Meenakshi Sharma, Director General on the above subject to draw her urgent attention in the matter and take up the issue with the editor HT immediately to withdraw/negate this report.
 

Copy of the letter was marked to ADG and JS Tourism
 

On the same subject IATO also wrote to Mr. Sukumar Ranganathan, Editor- in-Chief, The Hindustan Times, New Delhi and urged that the article by Ms. Smriti Kak Ramachandran should be withdrawn and Corrigendum be issued giving the facts in the matter.

Monday, 10^th August 

• A meeting to discuss revival of Tourism sector post COVID was held under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Minister for Tourism on Monday, 10^th August 2020 at 1100 hrs on virtual platform.
• Dekho Apna Desh Webinar from 10th -15th August 2020 celebrating Independence day
  • Organised on 10th August 2020 at 1100-1200 hrs - Cellular Jail: Letters, Memoirs and Memories

• 12th August 2020 at 1100-1200 hrs - Lesser-known stories of India’s struggle for Independence

• 14^th August 2020 at 1100-1200 hrs -   Jallianwala Bagh: A Turning Point in the Freedom Struggle

• 15^th August 2020 at 1100-1200 hrs - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – Architect of United India

Members were informed on the 9^th of August

• Subsequent to Training programme held by Taj in coordination with IATO, an email has been received from Taj Hotels, where they have given special offers for   IATO including 30% discount for bonafide tour operators and their immediately family members.

Members were informed on the 10^th of August
 

Tuesday, 11^th August  

• Nomination of Tour Operators for participation at virtual PATA Travel Mart to be held from 23rd – 27th September, 2020.

All Members (Recognised by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India)were informed on the 11th of August

Thursday, 13^th August

• Dekho Apna Desh webinar on " Mighty Ahoms and their Monuments in Assam" on 14th August,2020 at 04:00 PM by Indiatourism, Guwahati.

Members were informed on the 13^th of August.
