Tuesday,28th July
- Request to help the tourism industry for survival and save jobs
With reference to the discussion IATO had with the Hon’ble Tourism Minister in his office on 27th May 2020 and the subsequent letters of 2nd June 2020 and 4th July 2020, on the subject, IATO on date requested Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism (IC) to kindly consider their request that is so critical for the survival of tour operators
Copy of the letter was marked to JS Tourism
- Representation on the Eligibility of Service Exports from India Scheme (SEIS) benefit to Inbound Tour Operators (Tour operators) and the Google VC meeting today in response to the queries by DRI Hyderabad.
On date IATO on behalf of its members thanked Mr. Vinay Kumar, Joint Director, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Zonal Unit Hyderabad for calling the VC meeting, on the request made by IATO, and discuss about the notice sent to some of the IATO members on 20th May 2020. IATO offered to aid with any further information and clarification in the matter.
Copy of the letter was marked to Deputy Director DRI, Hyderabad.
2.Webinars/ Panel Discussions/Circulars/Meetings
Segment 2 update sequence by date: 29, 30, 31 July, 1st August
Wednesday, 29th July
- FICCI organized the first edition of the ‘Tourism E-Conclave' on July 29 -30, (Wednesday – Thursday), 2020.
The event was Inaugurated by Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (IC), Government of India.
Members were informed on the 15th of July
- Invitation to join Webinar conducted by Ministry of Tourism Government of India Bangalore
The first episode of the webinar series was organised on “Home Stay Experience in Coorg Karnataka” on Wednesday, the 29th July 2020 at 11.30- 12.30 Hrs IST.
Members were informed on the 28th of July.
Thursday, 30th July
- On date IATO President had a meeting with BIS and submitted 3 major Suggestions for future consideration under BIS norms. 1. Reduction in Training Fee, 2. Cruise Tourism to be included in Operational guidelines under BIS norms to maintain International Standards and 3. To include all ASI Monuments and State Government Monuments under BIS norms in comparison with International standards for visitor’s comforts.
Friday, 31st July
- Invitation: Live Tour of the Historic Civic District along Singapore River on 31 July 2020 at 2:30 PM
IATO received an email from PHDCCI on the above subject requesting participation from our members.
Members were informed on the 24th of July.
Saturday, 1st August
- Dekho Apna Desh Webinar was organised on Saturday, 1st August 2020 (1100-1200 hrs.) on HERITAGE TOURISM IN GUJARAT
Members were informed on the 30th of July.
