INDUSTRY OUTREACH - COVID 19
30th March 2020 To All Members, Sub: INDUSTRY OUTREACH - COVID 19 Dear Members, As you know, IATO along with FAITH,CII, FICCI and other trade associations, are trying hard to get relief for the members in the form of financial bailout package in this difficult time where tourism and hospitality industry is trying to survive. However, problem is bigger for the under privileged citizens of our country, who don’t have shelter, food and they are struggling hard for their livelihood. Attached please find a copy of letter received from FAITH, which is self-explanatory. As mentioned in the letter, our Hon’ble Prime Minister through our Hon’ble Tourism Minister would like to know, how the tourism industry and its members are contributing to help the country during this extreme global crisis.
May I request the members to revert on the following:- 1. Create awareness in your neighbourhood, society and staff to follow the guidelines of lockdown and support the government. 2. To update us if you in your individual capacity or through any NGO have taken any initiative to provide food, shelter, isolation, medical or any other assistance to the people who are in need. 3. To contribute in Prime Minister National Relief Fund with a big or small amount, whatever you can. 4. To encourage your staff who are capable to contribute in Primer Minister Relief National Fund, whatever amount they can contribute. 5. Any other support you can extend.
Please send us an update with a very small brief and a photograph by 2 pm on Tuesday, the 31st March 2020. Looking forward to your favourable support as mentioned above. With regards, Rahul Chakravarty COO
Dear Board of Directors, Executive Committee Members of FAITH Member Associations and Cause Partners, The office of Minister of Tourism has reached out to us to highlight to the Prime Minister on how our industry and different members of our tourism fraternity are doing their own bit to help the country during this extreme crisis. As the ministry is following up constantly on the outcome of our relief package, they want to send and share a strong message that Indian Tourism Travel & Hospitality industry is second to none in helping the country in this need of a ‘war like crisis’. May I request you to kindly share a small write up on whatever your organisation has been able to reach out for helping our country. Additionally, if you have a photograph (maximum one or two) that too would help. No help is big or small and every effort counts as per each’s own capability and each effort is exemplary. Some of our colleagues have reached out with daily meals, some have converted/offered their hotels for quarantine facilities, some have reached out to the deprived with supplies transportation, donation of perishable inventory or facilities off temporary shelters. All are requested to circulate this information to all your members and fraternity. I hope you will continue to take all precautions to stay safe! With a silent thought for all who are risk and are on front lines for us. Thanks & regards, NAKUL ANAND CHAIRMAN FAITH |
