* IATO Inputs/suggestions for Draft National Strategy on Rural Tourism
On date IATO wrote to Mr. Om Prakash, Under Secretary (NT), Ministry of Tourism with reference to his email of 29th September 2020 seeking feedback/suggestions on Draft National Strategy on Rural Tourism, IATO put forward that
* Under Farm Stay units, on application all such units should be given recognition in two categories Silver and Gold depending upon the facilities available for which criteria could be made.
* There should be a minimum requirement of rooms and other facilities in such Farm Stays units.
* All these Farm Stay Units projects should have sufficient agricultural land available to show the clients - the way how the
agricultural products are grown according to the season.
* There are many agricultural universities/institutes functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India or state governments nearby to these farm stay units. A standard policy should be made by the Government to allow tourists both international and domestic to visit such universities/institutes as these are of much interest for the tourists.
