Segment 1 update sequence by date:22 December

Ø Request for introducing ECLGS 3.0 for the long term impacted tourism and hospitality sector

IATO requested Mr. Yogendra Tripathi, Secretary (Tourism) to support its cause and take up with the Ministry of MSME to support and help the industry. The letter highlighted that tour operators are not getting bank loans unless they had prior relationship with the bank Pre-Covid.  MSME announced ECGLS 1.0 and 2.0 that covers only 20% on existing loan and it is not sufficient to cover 18 months’ period to survive.

It appended a prayer to the Hon’ble Minister for MSME Shri Nitin Gadkari to introduce ECGLS 3.0 for the tourism and hospitality industry so that they can get an additional 20% fund making it 40% on the existing loans. This should be with or without previous loan with the banks to help the industry to survive in this critical time.

A copy of the letter was marked to Director General (Tourism), Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, New Delhi

A separate appeal on the same subject was sent to Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor, Reserve Bank of India to consider introducing and releasing ECLGS 3.0 with a request if the outstanding amount on which the 20% is calculated could be taken as per the present date rather than on the 28th February, 2020, as it would be meaningful benefit to the entire sector.
