You will be glad to know that the dates and venue for the 32nd IATO Annual Convention have been finalized and convention would be held from Sunday, the 18th September to Wednesday, the 21stSeptember 2016 at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

 

The theme and the subjects for the business session are being decided and details will follow soon.

 

As you all know IATO Annual Convention is one of the most important events of the Indian travel calendar. It attracts delegates not only directly involved in handling tourists, but also brings in a strong participation from the various State Governments. Numerous senior dignitaries from the political and administrative arms of central and state governments are also part of this convention. The convention is the main gathering of stakeholders in the tourism industry and the ground for discussing and forming strategies and policies for the coming year. The event also attracts wide media coverage. 

 

There would be a host of activities like Travel Mart, Post Tours, Spouse Tours, IATO Run for Responsible Tourism, Cultural Evenings etc. 

 

Special hotel rates are being negotiated and will be conveyed soon. 

 

Members are requested to block these dates in your calendar and also book your air/train ticket for Chennai as the airfare at this stage are very low.

Departure of Delegates and Post Convention Tours. Details for the post convention tours are as follows:- 

 

Same day Kanchipuram. Dept at 0830 hrs and return Chennai airport to reach by 1700 hrs (book any flight departing after 1900 hrs)

    

Same day Mahabalipuram – Depart at 0900 hrs and return Chennai airport to reach by 1700 hrs (book any flight departing after 1900 hrs)

 

 

Over night Trip to Tirupati – On 21st September Depart at 0800 hrs for Tirumala Tirupati Devashanam via Vellore Golden Temple. Evening visit Tirumala Tirupati Devashanam for Darshan. Next day morning time free for independent Darshan by the delegates. At 1100 hrs leave for Chennai airport and reach Chennai Airport by 1800 hrs (book any flight departing after 2000 hrs)
