Sub: Grant of Airport Entry Passes for the Tour Operators and Hotels

Dear Members,

As you are aware,  IATO has been following up with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Bureau of Civil Aviation (Security) directly and through Ministry of Tourism for last one year. But issuance of airport entry passes was stopped as the new guidelines/criteria were being made by the Ministry of Civil Aviation/Bureau of Civil Aviation (Security). However, in the interim, on IATO’s request validity of airport passes was extended till 31st March 2020 for the tour operators.

With regular follow-up, our request for airport passes for tour operators has been acceded by the Ministry of Civil Aviation as per information received from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India today. The number of passes that will be given to the tour operators is as following criteria:-

No of Airport Passes

For inbound tour operators with turnover up to Rs. 20 crores

For inbound tour operators with turnover above Rs. 20 crores to Rs. 50 crores

04

For inbound tour operators with turnover above Rs. 50 crores

For 4 star Hotels

02

For 5 star and 5-star deluxe hotels

Further details and the guidelines are yet to be received from the Ministry of Civil Aviation/Bureau of Civil Aviation (Security), Government of India and shall be informed soon.
