Subject: schedule of Dekho Apna Desh Webinars for April 28, 29 and 30th
for ciruclation to Members, faculty and students
Dear Sir / Madam,
This is to inform that the following webinars are being organised by the
Ministry of Tourism from April 28-30, 2020 under the Dekho Apna Desh
Webinar Series:
28th April: An epic called India - A land of myriad stories.
There are so many stories that lurk in the gullies and gaons (villages)
of India, just walking or driving through this country, past villages
and small towns is enough to set your imagination on fire. The result
has been movies and books on an unimaginable scale. This inspiration if
applied to travel, romance and nostalgia can create myriad itineraries
for travellers from around the world. In the community of hotels
promoted as RARE India are intriguing stories of conservation, cuisine,
craft, mythology, heritage restoration, development and people. Just
what you need to explore this fascinating country – an ‘epic’
called INDIA. Registration Link: https://bit.ly/WebinarTowns [4]
29th April : Bengal by the Himalayas
The journey begins with the history of travelers and their interest. The
history of Darjeeling Tea, the attraction of Darjeeling Himalayan
Railway (DHR) or Toy Train, the treks & trails, the Nostalgia with the
Dak Bungalows & Charter train, the Village cultures, the Homestays and
the connect to Dooars and Sikkim. Registration Link:

30th April: New Age Women in Responsible Tourism
We bring you some powerful and personal stories of a few incredible
women, who offer an alternative imagination of travel. We should
celebrate them, and by extension, the destinations they are in. In the
post-Covid world, the role of these women in tourism will be crucial,
especially when homestays and remote destinations start drawing more
travellers. Since women are the very backbone of responsible tourism,
and they offer a perspective that is entirely their own, seeing India
through their eyes would be more than fascinating. Registration Link:
