Sub: SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE ON MDA SCHEME – TOURISM SERVICE PROVIDER (MDA BENEFICIARIES)

Placed below please find an email received from Dr. Rajat Sharma, Director, Economic Services, National Productivity Council, (Under DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India) regarding Survey being conducted by them on ongoing Overseas Promotion and Publicity including Marketing Development Assistance Scheme (MDA) during 2014-15 to 2018-19. They have been engaged by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India to conduct this survey.

The evaluation study focuses on the implementation of Central Sector Scheme OPMD by India Tourism Offices overseas and achievements and Marketing Development Assistance provided by the Ministry of Tourism and assessment of increased tourist awareness and tourist arrivals to India as a result of the promotion efforts by the Ministry of Tourism under the Global Marketing Plan.

Attached please find  the following:

(a)        A copy of the Survey Questionnaire on Overseas promotion and MDA Scheme 

(b)        Ministry of Tourism, Government of India letter dated 26th November engaging National 

Productivity Council to conduct survey.

Members are requested to participate in large numbers and provide the desired information in the Questionnaires to Dr. Rajat Sharma on his email id rajat.sharma@npcindia.gov.in by Wednesday, 15th January 2020.

Your participation will help the ministry in taking the decision in continuing the MDA scheme. Therefore, this may kindly be treated as most urgent and important and your 100% participation is must.

Subject: Third party Evaluation of the Restructured Scheme of Overseas Promotion and Publicity including Marketing Development Assistance OPMD (also known as Overseas Promotion and Publicity Scheme - OPP)-Reg.

Dear Sir,

This is to inform that National Productivity Council (NPC) under Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has been engaged to undertake “Third party Evaluation of the Restructured Scheme of Overseas Promotion and Publicity including Marketing Development Assistance OPMD for the period from 2014-15 to 2018-19” by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

Ministry of Tourism has been implementing the Restructured Scheme of Overseas Promotion and Publicity including Marketing Development Assistance (OPMD), with the objective to increase the visibility of Indian tourism destinations and products in the overseas markets and to promote India as a preferred tourist destination

Field study would be conducted through structured questionnaire/checklists with Eight Overseas Offices, State Governments and MDA Beneficiaries. Field survey would be undertaken concurrently at all the selected locations for the compilation of field level feedback involved in the implementation of Project, Tourists/Users of the facilities etc. with respect to current status and their views on overseas Overseas Promotion and Publicity including Marketing Development Assistance activities carried out during 2014-15 to 2018-19 under the scheme.

In this context, NPC study team will be visiting Tourism Service providers who have received MDA benefits for Field Surveys. You are requested to kindly request all Tourism Service Providers to co-operate with NPC Study Team for successful conduct of the study.

Please find attached Introductory letter from Ministry of Tourism, Government of India appointing NPC to undertake the Third Party Evaluation of the scheme (Copy of the introductory letter is enclosed).

Please find attached Tourism Service Providers( MDA Beneficiaries) Survey Questionnaire. ( Copy of the Survey Questionnaire is enclosed)

It is requested that the Information in the Questionnaires may kindly be filled up by MDA Beneficiaries (Tourism Service Providers) and may be sent  by return mail for undertaking field survey and for discussions and interactions on the subject during the field survey (Questionnaire Attached).

 Your assistance in carrying out the Third-Party Evaluation Study will be highly appreciated.
