To, All Members,

Dear Friends,

Sub: Questionnaire on Impact of GST on Tourism and Travel Industry

As you are aware, since the introduction of GST in July 2017, IATO had made several representations to the Chairman, GST Council,  Finance Minister of various States who are member of GST Council,  Secretary Revenue, Secretary Finance, Joint Secretary (Tax Research Unit) and various other authorities. We were able to get some relief for our members. However, we still feel that the GST on the package is  high and we had approached Service Export Promotion Council (SEPC), (set up by Ministry of Commerce, Government of India) to help us in the matter for further relief.

Now the SEPC has been given the responsibility by the Government to make a study report indicating the overall impact of GST on Indian tourism and travel Industry to consider our demands.

In this regard attached please find a questionnaire received from  Dr. Alka Maurya, Associate Professor - Editor, Amity Case Research Journal, Amity International Business School, who has been given the responsibility to undertake this study on behalf of SEPC.

Members are requested to take active part by sending your response on the enclosed Questionnaire and send the same to Dr. Alka Maurya on her email id amaurya@amity.edu  It will take only few minutes to fill the questionnaire.

Your valuable and factual information shall help SEPC to make the presentation with actual impact of GST on our industry.

Please treat this as most important and send your response as soon as possible and latest by 4th June 2018.

We request our members to take it serious and participate in large number.

Thanks and regards,

Sincerely,

Pronab Sarkar

President
