Visit India Year in China 2015

Sub: Visit India Year in China 2015 and participation of IATO Members in China International Travel Mart (CITM) from 13-15 November 2015
As you are aware, the year 2015 is being observed as “Visit India Year” in China.
The proposed activities for the “Visit India Year” 2015 include a High Level Tourism Forum to be held in China and participation of India as “Guest of Honour” country at the China International Travel Mart (CITM) being held in Kunming from 13 – 15 November 2015.
The Tourism Forum would include presentations by the Ministry of Tourism, the China National Tourism Administration as well as by States/Union Territories from India and Provinces from China highlighting their tourism potential. There would be participation of stakeholder from both sides and a B2B session between trade and hospitality representatives from both the countries.
The detailed programme for the Forum is being finalized by the Embassy of India in Beijing.
In view of the “Visit India Year” 2015 in China, India has also been invited to participate as “Guest of Honour” country at the China International Travel Mart being held in Kunming from 11-13 November 2015.
Dr. Mahesh Sharma, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism & Culture (Independent Charge) has agreed to lead the Indian Delegationfor participation as Guest of Honour country at CITM and for the High Level Tourism Forum to be held at the same time.
As you know, China today has emerged as the leading source market for tourism in the World and it is important for our members to tap the vast potential of this market and increase its share in the outbound travel l from China.
Further details about the participation fee and the programme etc. will be communicated in due course.
