To All Members,

Dear Friends,

Sub: Advice to check Entry of Visa Expiry date on the Passport entered by the Immigration Officer upon arrival in India.

In last days, two cases have been reported to us by our members where wrong Entry of Visa Expiry date was entered on the Passport by the Immigration Officer upon arrival at IGI Airport.  This caused lot of inconvenience to the foreign tourists and one female tourist from USA had to travel from Darjeeling to Delhi and go back to Darjeeling after getting the necessary endorsement on her passports.

The matter was take up with Bureau of Immigration and concerned FRRO and both the matters were resolved with great difficulties. However, we have been assured by BOI/FRRO that due care will be taken in future.

On the validity of e-Tourist Visa, kindly note the following.

1.    One Month e-Tourist Visa. Duration: 30 Days from the date of entry in India. However, tourist having one month e-Tourist Visa need to enter India within 30 days. Validity: 30 days from the date of entry in India. Double Entry, non-extendable and non-convertible
2.    One year e-Tourist Visa Duration: One year (365 Days) from the date of grant of ETA. Entries: Multiple. Validity of this e-Tourist Visa is for one year from the date of Grant of ETA.
