24th December 2015

To, All Members,

Dear Friends,

Subject: Regarding Free Baggage Allowance on Air India

Seasons Greeting and once again wishing you all, your family and staff a very happy and prosperous new year.

As you are aware, on IATO’s request, Air India has earlier increased the baggage allowance from 15 Kgs to 25 kgs on all domestic sectors w.e.f. 12th August 2015.  However, this extension of 25 kgs free baggage allowance was valid till 7th February 2016.

We aggressively followed up with Mr. Ashwani Lohani, CMD Air India to extend  this facility of 25 kgs free baggage allowance beyond 7th February 2016 so that our members can promote Air India for their groups coming after 7th February 2016.

You will be pleased to know that Mr. Lohani has considered our request favourably and the facility of 25 kgs Free Baggage Allowance on Air India has been extended till further notice.

Please note the following:-

•This offer is valid on all flights on the domestic network.
•Passenger travelling on Air India domestic sector and connecting to Air India international sector or vice versa, the free baggage allowance of international sector will be applicable
•Passenger travelling on Alliance Air to Air India or vice versa would be allowed free baggage allowance of 25 kgs per passenger per flight.
•For journey applicable only on Alliance Air Flights (CRJ/ATR 42 A/C), Free Baggage Allowance would continue to be restricted to 15 kgs.
•Gold member of Star Alliance continue to be permitted an additional 20 kgs. of baggage allowance in Economy class.
•Members of Premium Club and Flying Returns members would continue to be permitted additional baggage, as notified from time to time, over the time.

The above information has been uploaded on CRS.
