Sub: IATO requests to allow plying of BS IV Diesel Buses during GRAP IV in Delhi
You may be aware through the news appeared in National Daily News Papers that Delhi Government Transport Department vide Notification dated 20th November 2023 has taken a decision to restrict entry and plying of all passenger buses in Delhi except CNG/Electric and BS-VI during GRAP IV. In the above said notification Entry of all buses, including All India Tourist buses / Contract Carriage buses / State Transport Buses or holding any other kind of permit into Delhi from other States except CNG / Electric or BSVI diesel buses will be restricted as and whenever GRAP IV invokes.
The matter has been taken up with His Excellency, Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Delhi with copy to concerned Ministers /Senior officials of Delhi Govt and CAQM that services of tour operators to the foreign tourists should be considered under ESSENTIAL SERVICES and plying of BS IV Diesel Buses/Mini Coaches/Tempo Travellers having valid registration, registered after 1st January 2018 and having fitness certificate should be allowed to ply in Delhi during GRAP IV Stage, so that we are able to provide uninterrupted services to foreign tourists already committed to them.
We have a meeting with Principal Secretary cum Commissioner, Transport Department, Govt. of NCT Delhi next week and shall put up our case strongly.
