18th January 2023,

To All Members,

Sub: Relaxation in the condition of requirement of Minimum turnover in financial year 2021-22 for Tour operators / Travel Agent / Tourist Transport Operators.

Dear Friends,

IATO had taken up with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India regarding the problems our members were facing for grant of MoT recognition/renewal of tour operators/travel agents/service providers.

We had mentioned that due to pandemic, balance sheet of 2019-20 may be accepted for  MoT recognition for all who are due for renewal or want to apply afresh as their MoT recognition has already expired. We requested that all renewals including those renewals which are being done as fresh case due to their recognition being expired may kindly be considered. This would help the small and medium tour operators to get their MoT renewal done based on their turnover in 2019-20.

The matter was taken up personally by Mr. Rajiv Mehra, President with Mr. Rakesh Kumar Verma, Additional Secretary Tourism, Govt. of India who spoke with him number of times to get it accepted.

You will be pleased to know, that Ministry of Tourism Government of India has favourably considered our request and have agreed to accept balance sheet of Financial Year 2019-20 till 31st December 2023.

This will help many of our members who do not have turnover of Rs. 20 lakh in financial year 2020-21 and 2021-22. ( Notification Attached )
