Sub: Extension of validity of Ministry of Tourism recognition/approval in r/o all categories of Service Providers (Tour Operators, Travel Agents and Tourist Transport Operators) in the wake of Covid-19 Pandemic-reg.
Dear Friends,
IATO had taken up with the Ministry of Tourism to extend the validity of MoT recognition/approval for the service providers to extend validity till 30th June 2022 due to Covid -19 of all who have applied for renewal as per the guidelines.
Ministry has acceded to our request and have extended validity of all the service providers till 30th June 2022. However, this will be subject to the condition that they have submitted their complete application seeking renewal of their approval/recognition with the Ministry of Tourism. All the agencies, whose validity expires (including extended validity) upto January, 2022 will be given extension of validity(approval/recognition) upto 30.06.2022 subject to the condition they have submitted their complete application with required fee for renewal.

Subject: Extension of validity of Ministry of Tourism recognition/approval in r/o all categories of Service Providers (Tour Operators, Travel Agents and Tourist Transport Operators) in the wake of Covid-19 Pandemic
The matter regarding extending the validity of the approval/ recognition of the existing stakeholders (tour operators/ travel agents/tourist transport operators) given by the Ministry of Tourism and grant of provisional approval/recognition for the new agencies in view of crisis caused due to the Covid-19 pandemic has been considered in the Ministry.
2. Earlier, it was decided that the agencies, who had applied for the renewal and had submitted the complete application (including payment of fee for this purpose) would be given extension of their validity initially upto 30.09.2020, which was further extended till 31.03.2021 and then till 31.12.2021. Similarly, for the agencies, which applied for fresh approval, they were given provisional approval initially for six months and it was extended upto 31.03.2021 then further extended upto 31.12.2021.
3. Now, in view of continued disruption of travel operation due to emergence of new variat of Covid-19(Omicron), the matter regarding extending the validity of service providers (Tour/Operators/Travel Agents/Tourist Transport Operators) has been considered afresh and it has been decided to give extension to the existing validity of the tour operators, travel agents and tourist transport operators upto 30.06.2022. It will also include the extended validity already given to such tour operators. However, this will be subject to the condition that they have submitted their complete application seeking renewal of their approval/recognition with the Ministry of Tourism. All the agencies, whose validity expires (including extended validity) upto January, 2022 will be given extension of validity(approval/recognition) upto 30.06.2022 subject to the condition they have submitted their complete application with required fee for renewal.
4. For agencies seeking fresh approval/recognition, they will be considered for giving provisional approval upto 30.06.2022 subject to submission of complete application fulfilling all the documentary requirements as mentioned in the guidelines issued by the Ministry.
5. The status of all such cases will be reviewed from time to time as the situation required and suitable decision taken will be communicated accordingly.
6. This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
