Dear Friends,

To strengthen IATO membership base, the IATO Executive Committee has taken some major and important decisions to increase membership in states where we have less members and also to encourage allied members to change their status from allied to active all over the country.  

Following are the decisions taken by the EC:-

  1. Waiving off/Discount on Admission Fee for the IATO Membership for the New Applicants.

(i) To fully waive off admission (Joining fee) of Rs. 10000 plus GST for the new membership from the applicants who are based in Andaman Nicobar Islands; Andhra Pradesh; Bihar; Chandigarh: Chhattisgarh; Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu; Jammu & Kashmir; Jharkhand; Ladakh; Lakshadweep; North East States; Puducherry. This decision is taken to increase membership base in these states/UT.

(ii) To give 50% discount on Admission Fee (Joining Fee – Charges payable Rs. 5000/- plus 18% GST) for the new applicants based in any state other than mentioned in para i) above.

(iii) There is no waiver/discount on the Annual Subscription and to be paid fully.

(iv) Above waiver off/discount in Admission Fee is available for the applications received till 31st March 2022.

  1. Waiving off of Annual Subscription for the Existing Members for the financial year 2021-22:-

(i) EC had also decided to  give relief to the existing members in the category of tour operators, travel agents, transport operators, hotel representation companies. All these category of members who have paid their annual subscription for the financial year 2020-21, their membership will be automatically renewed for the financial year 2021-22 and they will not be charged the annual subscription for the financial year 2021-22. Membership certificate for the financial year 2021-22 will be sent to all such members automatically.

  1. You may therefore give wide publicity of the decisions taken by the EC with the following:-

(i) To encourage all your friends in the industry who are known to you and are not the members of IATO to apply for the IATO membership and take benefit of waiver/discount in admission fee.  

(ii) To encourage the existing members to pay their annual subscription for the financial year 2020-21 so that their membership for the financial year 2021-22 could be renewed and membership certificate could be sent to them.

(iii) To encourage existing allied members who are MoT approved and have foreign exchange earnings of minimum Rs. 20 lakh and above during the financial year 2019-20, to apply for change of status from allied to active category.

(iv) All those allied members who have foreign exchange earnings should be encouraged to apply for MoT recognition for which all help will be rendered by the IATO Secretariat, New Delhi so that after they get MoT recognition, they will be eligible to change their status from Allied to Active category after completion of 2 years from the date of their getting MoT recognition.

  1. FEE STRUCTURE FOR NEW MEMBERSHIP  
  2. For applicants from Andaman & Nicobar Islands; Andhra Pradesh; Bihar; Chandigarh: Chhattisgarh; Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu; Jammu & Kashmir; Jharkhand; Ladakh; Lakshadweep; North East States; Puducherry.

(i) For Active Membership

Admission fee – Nil (Rs. 10000 + 18% GST fully waived off)

Annual Subscription - Rs. 6500 + 18% GST

Total amount = Rs. 6500 + Rs. 1170 GST = Rs. 7670

(ii) For Allied Membership

Admission fee – Nil (Rs. 10000 + 18 % GST fully waived off)

Annual Subscription - Rs. 6000 + 18% GST            

Total Amount – Rs. 6000 + Rs. 1080 GST = Rs. 7080

  1. For New Membership applicants from Rest of India (other then Andaman & Nicobar Islands; Andhra Pradesh; Bihar; Chandigarh: Chhattisgarh; Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu; Jammu & Kashmir; Jharkhand; Ladakh; Lakshadweep; North East States; Puducherry).

(i) For Active Membership

Admission fee Rs. 5000 + 18 % GST (after 50% discount)

Annual Subscription - Rs. 6500 + 18% GST

Total Amount – Rs. 11500 + Rs. 2070 GST =  Rs. 13570

(ii) For Allied Membership

Admission fee Rs. 5000 + 18 % GST (after 50% discount

Annual Subscription - Rs. 6000 + 18% GST            

Total Amount – Rs. 11000 + Rs. 1980 GST = Rs. 12980

A copy of audited balance sheet for the financial year 2019 -20 (Balance sheet of financial year 2020-21 is not being asked as there was no tourism business due to Covid -19).

Certificate of incorporation from registrar of companies in case of Private limited company

In case of partnership firm, a copy of Partnership deed.

A copy of recognition from the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India and having completed two years after recognition.

Foreign exchange Certificate either from the Chartered Accountant or from the Bank. Minimum foreign exchange earning should be Rs. 20 lakh in financial year 2019-20.

Copy of membership certificate in case of membership with any other trade association

Cheque/Demand Draft in favour of Indian Association of Tour Operators as per details given above.

  1. For New membership Applicants applying for Allied Membership

A company should be in operation for last one year from the date of submitting the application.

A copy of audited balance sheet for the financial year 2019 -20 (Balance sheet of financial year 2020-21 is not being asked as there was no tourism business due to Covid -19).

Certificate of incorporation from registrar of companies in case of Private limited company

In case of partnership firm, a copy of Partnership deed.

Copy of membership certificate in case of membership with any other trade association

  1. CHANGE OF STATUS FROM ALLIED TO ACTIVE FOR EXISTING MEMBERS:- For the Existing members who wish to apply for Change of Status from Allied to Active Category,  following documents needs to be attached with the application:-

A copy of audited balance sheet for the financial year 2019 -20 (Balance sheet of financial year 2020-21 is not being asked as there was no tourism business due to Covid -19).

Certificate of incorporation from registrar of companies in case of Private limited company

In case of partnership firm, a copy of Partnership deed.

Cheque/Demand Draft in favour of Indian Association of Tour Operators for an amount of Rs. 590/-  if annual subscription for the allied membership has been paid. In case if annual subscription for Allied membership has not been paid then cheque/demand draft of Rs. 7670/-  is to be enclosed.  

  1. All membership applications need to  be recommended by two existing members (one should be active) preferably by the State Chapter Chairman/Co-Chairman/State – In charge of the respective state.
