Sub: Regarding  Refund from Air India.

Dear Friends,

On 18th May 2021, we had a meeting with Air India regarding refund of cancelled air tickets due to Covid -19/lockdown.

We were advised by Air India that during the month of April 2021, they had opened the electronic refund process four times without any limit of refund except for 10 top agents in the country.

To help IATO members, the following decision were taken:-

 

  1. Air India wants a list of travel agents whose refunds are pending as per the following details

 

  1. Name of the agent (through whom the tickets were issued)___________________

 

  1. Name of the city_________________________

 

  1. Name of the contact person in that agency along with his/her mobile number___________________

 

  1. All tour operators/travel agents should ensure that their PNRs are alive as the refunds have to be processed through the system. In case of any problem tour operators/travel agents are advised to contact the service provider i.e.  Amadeus or Galileo and get this sorted out.
  1. Members those who have already got the refund from Air India and had also raised RAs on the system, they must cancel the same RAs.
  1. IATO has also request Air India to send us copy of the circulars which will be issued to advise tour operators/travel agents as to when the electronic process is opened.

Kindly send us the above information by Monday, the  24th May 2021 on email id operations@iato.in and iato.circulars@gmail.com as we need to consolidate and send the information to Air India by 25th May 2021.

Please NOTE we do Not require name of the Group/FIT or PNR number or any ticket number. Simply the information requested as per point no.1 is required as the Regional General Manager Air India will contact the respective tour operator of their region.
