Sub: SEPC letter to Finance Minister - Request for Issuance of SEIS notification for 2019-20

As you are aware, in continuation to our efforts to get SEIS for the members, IATO had written a letter to the Minister of Finance on 10^th December 2020 to release SEIS for the tour operators for 2019-20. Following the same, our President met Dr. Abhay Sinha, Deputy Director-General, SEPC in his office on 13^th January 2021 and requested him to support the tourism industry by taking up with the Finance Minister. Coincidently, at the same time, Dr, Sinha received a call from  Mr. Maneck Dawar, Chairman SEPC, who made our President speak to the Chairman. Mr. Dawar assured our President his full support by taking up the matter with the Minister of Finance.

Accordingly, the enclosed letter has been written by the Chairman SEPC on 19^th January expressing IATO’s concern to Hon’ble Finance Minister especially mentioning about travel & tourism sector along with other sectors.

Hope it will be considered favorably by the Government during the budget 2021-22 to be announced on 1^st February 2021 or separately.
