Ø Request to issue Guidelines/Procedure for Issuance of Airport Entry
Passes for the Tour Operators
IATO thanked Mrs. Usha Padhee Joint Secretary Ministry of Civil Aviation
for her help and support to have extended the issuance of airport Entry
Passes for the tour operators. Following up on the request made on 24th
July 2020 IATO urged to her to kindly address the change, if any, in
procedure and guidelines for the passes, which were being finalised.
Under her guidance India is operating flights under Air Bubble agreement
with various countries and there are lot of passengers travelling
to/from India, who need airport assistance including elderly Indian
nationals, families with small children and foreigners with business
visa etc. but member tour operators who applied for the passes have been
denied and they could not receive / offer the desired service to their
foreign clients at the airport. With the prospect of revival of inbound
tourism, guidelines for airport entry passes will enable our members to
apply for passes accordingly and offer the desired service to the
inbound tourists at the airport
A copy of the letter was sent to A. Director General (Tourism), B.
Additional Director General (Tourism) C. Joint Director General (Travel
Trade), and D. Asst. Director General (Travel Trade), Ministry of
Tourism, Govt. of India.
